Alumni Spotlight: José Madrid ‘10 Named Cristo Rey Network 40 Under 40 Honoree

Arrupe Jesuit is thrilled to celebrate José Madrid (Class of 2010) for being named a Cristo Rey Network 40 Under 40 honoree! This recognition highlights alumni from across the Cristo Rey Network who are making an impact in industries such as Business, Education, Healthcare, Law, and Non-Profit work. This honor highlights José’s hard work, perseverance, and commitment to making a meaningful impact.

After graduating from Arrupe Jesuit, José Madrid attended Georgetown University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies with a Certificate in Latin American Studies. He then continued his education at Georgetown University Law Center, earning his Juris Doctor (JD) while serving as an Articles Editor for The Georgetown Law Journal, participating in Moot Court, and advocating for others through the Civil Litigation Clinic.

Today, José applies his passion for law and advocacy as an Associate Attorney at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where he has been practicing since November 2022

During his time at Arrupe Jesuit, José was known for his strong work ethic and leadership qualities, traits that have only grown stronger throughout his career. As a student, he embraced the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP), gaining invaluable experience that helped shape his professional path. His journey reflects the power of an Arrupe education—one that equips students with not only knowledge but also real-world skills and a deep sense of purpose.

José’s achievements extend far beyond his career. He remains actively involved in the Arrupe Jesuit community, giving back in ways that uplift and inspire the next generation of leaders. His story serves as a reminder that success isn’t just about individual accomplishments but also about how we use our gifts to support and elevate others.

Arrupe Jesuit President Michael O’Hagan reflected on Jose Madrid’s journey, saying, "As a student at Arrupe Jesuit, during his time at Georgetown, and since he has returned to Denver as an attorney, Jose Madrid has demonstrated a commitment to the finest traditions of Jesuit education. In his work and in his desire to serve others, he embodies the promise the Cristo Rey Network promotes in each of its schools.”

The Cristo Rey Network 40 Under 40 celebrates alumni who embody the mission of Cristo Rey schools: to provide transformational educational opportunities and foster leaders committed to service and social impact. José’s recognition is well-deserved, and we couldn’t be prouder of all that he has achieved and all that’s still to come.

Please join us in celebrating José Madrid ‘10 for this incredible honor!
