Meet Emily Glenn: Principal at Arrupe Jesuit High School

Arrupe Jesuit High School is thrilled to announce that Emily Glenn will be our school’s next principal, assuming her role early this summer. Both her training and her experience have taught Emily that Catholic schools build communities where students deepen their love of God and learn to serve their neighbors. With a background rooted in Jesuit Education, Emily brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the formation of the whole person.  In collaboration with the Society of Jesus, she is delighted to accompany young people in the creation of a hope-filled future.

Her formative years in the Cherry Creek School District laid the foundation for her educational pursuits. However, it was her time at Regis Jesuit High School that truly ignited her passion for Jesuit education and set her on a transformative path.

Following her high school graduation, Emily embarked on her academic journey at Regis University, where she immersed herself in a dynamic learning environment. Majoring in biology, Emily's undergraduate years were not only defined by academic excellence but also by her active participation in campus life, particularly in Residence Life, where she cultivated lasting friendships and discovered her deep-seated commitment to service and community engagement.

After completing her undergraduate studies, Emily's initial plans to pursue a career in the medical field took an unexpected turn when she discovered the Alumni Service Corps program offered by the Missouri Province. This experience led her to De Smet Jesuit High School in Saint Louis, Missouri, where she spent a year teaching biology to 9th graders. It was during this time that Emily's passion for teaching and her vocation in Jesuit education were ignited.

Over the years, Emily's journey in education has taken her to three Jesuit high schools, each contributing to her personal and professional growth in unique ways. From her early days as a faculty member at Regis Jesuit High School to her current administrative role at Xavier College Prep in Palm Desert, California, Emily's dedication to Jesuit education has remained unwavering.

One of Emily's most memorable and rewarding experiences in education was her involvement with the Project Unified Team during her tenure at Regis Jesuit High School. This program, which brought together students from diverse backgrounds to compete in Special Olympics events, underscored the power of inclusivity and community engagement—a value deeply ingrained in Jesuit education.

In her return to Colorado and her appointment as the new principal of Arrupe Jesuit High School, Emily has been filled with immense joy and gratitude. During her visit to Arrupe for her interview, Emily was deeply moved by the palpable sense of care, commitment, and community spirit that is present in the school. The vibrant energy of the students, coupled with the unwavering dedication of the faculty and staff, affirmed Emily's decision to join the Arrupe Jesuit family.

Throughout her journey, Emily has been guided and inspired by numerous educators and mentors. However, if she were to highlight one individual who played a pivotal role in shaping her path, it would be her Latin teacher at Regis Jesuit High School, Mr. Jim Broderick-King. Mr. BK's unwavering commitment to service and compassion for the marginalized left a lasting mark on Emily, inspiring her to emulate his approach in her own teaching and leadership.

As Emily embarks on this new chapter at Arrupe Jesuit High School, she brings with her a deep sense of purpose and a steadfast commitment to nurturing the hearts and minds of each student entrusted to her care. With her passion for Jesuit education, her dedication to fostering community engagement, and her unwavering commitment to Ignatian values, Emily Glenn is poised to lead Arrupe Jesuit High School into a future filled with endless possibilities.
